Leticia Gutierrez

Leticia Gutierrez started her career as a stage actress in Mexico with the role of Miranda in William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. She moved to Paris in 1994. Since then, she has continued working for the theater and cinema. Highly acclaimed for her performance in Patricia Riggen’s La Milpa (short film, Mexico, 2001), she also worked for Ignacio Ortiz Cruz in Cuento de Hadas para dormir Cocodrilos (Mexico, 2000), for Abdel Kechiche in L’Esquive (France, 2002), for Andrea Manni in Il Fuggiasco (Italy, 2002), for Jan Kounen in Blueberry (France, 2002), for Jean-Luc Godard in Notre Musique (France, 2003), and for Ivan Avila in La Sangre Iluminada (Mexico, 2006). She has also worked for reputed television channels worldwide: Canal 9 (Mexico), France 2 (France), TV Azteca (Mexico), RAI 1 (Maresciallo Rocca, Italy), to name a few.


 

Geza M. Toth

Geza M. Toth is a 38 years old hungarian artist, animation filmmaker, has been working also as a lecturer at several animation film institutes such as: Animation Department of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest, Royal College of Art, London, UK, National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India and Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, Ludwigsburg, Germany.

Managing Director of the KEDD Animation Studios. In the past 5-6 years he has created approx. 120 animation signals, commercials and 5 short animation films.

His productions were successfully screened at different festivals all over the world. In 2007 his short film, Maestro was nominated to Oscar by the American Academy in category of Best Animated Short Film.

Luís Pereira

Luís Pereira was born in Azores (São Jorge Island), 1964.

After finishing high school, in Lisbon and Azores, he studied audiovisual and journalism. Radio host and journalist since 1984, developed Professional activity in different media: Lusa Agency, Açor Press Diário de Lisboa and Rádio Clube Asas do Atlântico. He was host and producer at RDP between 1989 and 1997, being RDP Delegate in Horta. Worked with RTP in several documentaries. Presently living in Faial Island where developes several activities in cultural production. As free lancer he published some works in several publications at national and international level.

Despite is passion by the radio, it was in the cinema, since very young age, that he found space for dreaming and freedom. Producer of several short films, shooted in Azores, organized and took part of several cinema workshops.

Since 2003 he is Executive Director and Programmer of Horta Film Society being its Presiden since February 2006 and General Director of Faial FIlmes Fest. Recently he was elected as Vice-President of Portuguese Federation of Film Societies.

Don Quijote Prize of the International Federation of Film Societies.
Founded in 1947 during the Cannes Film Festival, FICC/IFSS is the international umbrella organization of film societies and non-profit cinemas from all over the world. One of its aims is to discover outstanding films and to promote them internationally. In order to achieve this, FICC/IFSS has created its international film network "Discoveries". By complementing existing distribution activities, this network creates an audience for films that are not normally screened in cinemas. All films awarded by the FICC/IFSS Juries are listed in the catalogue of FICC’s Network "Discoveries" that was started in Spring 1998 as a pilot project. In addition to this, a selection of awarded films is presented at the annual International Festival of Film Societies in Calabria, Italy. The president of FICC/IFSS is Italian director Gianni Amelio.

 

Raquel Llorca

My name is Raquel Llorca , I am 30 years-old girl and I live most of my time in Barcelona, Spain.

As far as I am concerned, I took a degree in law as well as Psychology. Further one, at present I am studding Anthropology. In spite of having been working as a lawyer before, I was interested in other field. As I am currently working in Doctors Without Borders, I must point out that my main interests is dealing with people specially with those who need help as well as a great many cultures. In reference to this fact all may life I am involved in several events such us cinema, theatre, dancing (flamenco), music, etc.

I must state that I am a member of “Federació Catalana de Cineclubs”, XISC Cineclub Cerdanyola del Vallès, and have a great opportunity as a member of FICC Jury to enjoy and to learn more and more about each International Film Festival experience.


 

Peter Muszatics

Producer, director, communications expert.

Peter Muszatics, born in 1976, is a Hungarian filmmaker and communications expert. A graduated lawyer and media expert from the Budapest and Vienna Universities. Since 2007 communications director of CineFest – International Festival of Young Filmmakers in Miskolc, Hungary. Director and producer of several documentaries, such as Confessions of an Original Sinner (a profile of US historian John Lukacs), Process (the history of Hungary between 1920 and 1944 from the perspective of the increasing anti-Semitism).

Now he works ont he film Kádár, a profile of János Kádár (1912-1989), Hungary’s communist leader for 32 years. Initiator of several media events, like Hollywood Impact (2008) a conference about Central European emigrés, the founding fathers of Hollywood cinema and Fresh Air 1 & 2, a conference series about the tendencies of young Hungarian cinema. He translated and wrote more essays and articles for different magazines and newspapers.


 

Luís Ferro

Luís Ferro was born in Beja, March 22 in 1986.

In 2004 he entered the Architecture course in the University of Évora being a member of the film society since then.

Since 2005 he integrates the Selection Committee of the FIKE – Évora International Film Festival. He has also participated in the film society and festival activities, including the meeting of Young Directors organized by the FIKE and the Fédération Leo Lagrange.

He integrated the Multimedia Department in the Student Association of the University of Évora and he is a member of the Cartoon Workshop in the Culture House of Beja since 2005.

He was a student at the Yildiz Teknik Universitesi in Istanbul under the lee of the program ERASMUS in the school year of 2007/ 2008 and the author of the exhibition “Separados pelo Mar” in the Màrio Elias Gallery in Mértola in 2008.
